Vegan Products

Since last year, I have noticed many new vegan products in the market, mostly sold online as well as at local vendor events. They look nice as well as products I would buy, but I wasn't look for anything at the time. I am happy to see that it is growing.

Chanel Runway Show 2020

I decided to watch a Chanel runway show because it is the first show by Virginie Viard, the creative director who took over the late Karl Lagerfeld's position. I used to watch Lagerfeld's runway shows because I liked the themed show. As I watch this show, I notice they paid tribute to Karl Lagerfeld throughout the whole show, as they transitioned to the new creative director, Virginie Viard. This show had the Cruise theme.

Ali MacGraw was at the show, and she answered some questions after the runway show. I didn't realize how old she looked. She is now 80 years old. I remember her from the 1970s. Vanessa Paradis and her daughter with Johnny Depp were also there.

Jacquemus Runway Show

Jacquemus, a 30-year-old French fashion designer, displays his emotional fashion show, dedicated to his late mother Valerie, in which he created his first dress design for his mother from linen curtain in 1997. I notice this fashion show is mostly in neutral colors, specifically lots of beiges, nudes, and off-white. Bella and Gigi Hadid are in this runway show. This show also has 90s-inspired outfits.

Lilac purses and clothes as well as magenta pink clothes and purses are highlighted in this runway show.

This runway show is for fall/winter 2020, it looks more for spring and summer. At the end of the runway show, Jacquemus dedicated his latest designs to his later mother.

Is unzipped and unbuttoned pants in style now?

Friday, 2.22.19

It was a beautiful winter day with clear blue skies and bright sunshine. At 5:30 pm, I decided to go to the Woodbridge meetup. It was chilly weather, but dry. Traffic was terrible this evening, as I inched my car toward the Woodbridge Center parking lot, which really isn't far. It's only around 3 miles. At 5:45 pm, I parked my car and browsed on my iPhone. The first information I noticed was Karl Lagerfeld dead at 85. He was known mostly for working as the Creative Director of Chanel and Fendi.

Since I have been playing with during the 80s and 90s, after being introduced to it by some relatives, fashion has become a part of my life. Since my teen years, I have expressed myself creatively by expressing my personal style for the moment. As a teen, I had the beach style with permed hair, surfer t-shirts, white van slip-on sneakers (mostly for skateboarding), white shorts, and mexican hoodie pullover.  Then, during my 20s, I was mostly into trendy fashions as well as streetwear.

After the five-mile walk, I went on Youtube to notice there were many videos about Karl Lagerfeld's death. He died in Paris, or just west of Paris, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He leaves behind his beloved cat, Choupette, who inherited a large sum of his fortune, a part of his $300 million fortune, probably for someone to properly take care of her and her needs. I wonder who will take care of her. It is probably someone he trusted with his estate and cat.

Karl Otto Lagerfeldt was born in Hamburg, Germany on September 10, 1933 and he died on February 19, 2019 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. (There was a full moon on February 19th).

It was also noted that he had gotten this cat from a model, who was a friend. I wonder if that model is now taking care of the cat, now that Karl Lagerfeld has died. In a way, she or he is next of kin to the cat because Choupette was originally hers or his.

Moreover, Choupette lived the life of a supermodel. She made her own money as a kitty model, and she had her own bank account. Cool. I hope no one will still her money. I think it is for her food, medical expenses, and her other kitty needs.

The Mall Meetup on a Rainy Day

It was a wet winter day. I decided to attend a Mall Meetup, where a group of people decided to meet at South Coast Plaza in order to walk inside of the mall and window-shop. It was early in the morning, and most stores weren't opened yet. But maintenance people were cleaning the mall before the stores opened their doors to the public. By 10 am, people started coming into the mall, and I notice a very long line by an Asian restaurant.

These Iphone6 snapshots are my fashion collage for February 2019. Fashion trends includes red clothing and accessories for Valentine's Day, Asian-inspired clothes and accessories for Year of the Pig Chinese New Year, cropped pants, neutrals, bold prints, vintages 50s, 80s, and 90s, hiking meetups, travel diaries, vegan burger and fries, camouflage, nature, animals, and duros.  This meetup group was led by Randy Smith, and about 24 people showed up on this rainy day.

I have always been attracted to the French style because it is simply elegant with class items. One way to do that is to buy classic and timeless pieces that don't go out of style, and then updating and changing up your wardrobe each season with an accessory or two, whether a scarf, purse, hair items, shoes, belts, and/or jewelry....

The weekends are all about having fun with style. Stay with the classics, which include stripes, trench coat, boho floppy hat, denim, and flat sandals. Other must-haves include small boxy purse, tote bag, and sunglasses. Get inspired by the simplicity and elegance of French fashions.

Consider learning how to knit or loom your own accessories with Youtube demos. Macrame is also a popular option for this summer. Since the very long knit scarf will be popular for this autumn, consider looming or knitting your own during this summer. Last year, I loomed a 68-inch narrow scarf, which is the length of my height, but I...
